Grant Halverson has been playing golf for over 30 years. He started playing golf under the guidance of his father Jack who was a lifetime member of the PGA. He had a successful junior career winning many local and national junior tournaments. At fourteen he qualified, National Insurance Youth Classic. He also qualified for the US Junior and US Amateur at seventeen years old.

Following junior golf, Grant Halverson received a golf scholarship to the University of Georgia. He competed on the team with current PGA Tour member Paul Claxton, and current Nationwide Tour members Tommy Tolles and Franklin Langham.

After College, Grant Halverson turned professional and started to compete on the European PGA Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He enjoyed traveling and also enjoyed living around the world. While playing the Sunshine Tour, Grant met his wife Penny Halverson. While competing, Grant had the opportunity to play with and compete against the likes of Ernie Els, Reteif Goosen, Darren Clarke, Greg Norman, David Frost, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, and Seve Ballesteros to name a few.

After his playing career, Grant Halverson found a passion for teaching golf. He started teaching at the Pine Needles Lodge in North Carolina and then moved from there for a short stint at The David Leadbetteer Golf Academy. He then left to go out on his own and took a teaching position in South Africa. Finally, he has been teaching at the Aviara Golf Academy for 8 years. Grant has been lucky to learn from some of the games best teachers: Peggy Kirk Bell, Harvey Ward, Dr. Jim Suttie, David Leadbetter, Mitchell Spearman, Jack Halverson, and Kip Puterbaugh.

Currently, Grant Halverson is a Master Teaching Professional at the Aviara Golf Academy in Carlsbad, California. He and his wife Penny are also the owner operators of Bogeys in the Bush, a golf and safari tour company that specializes in golf tours to South Africa.
